Portal Río+20

Green Cross International was born out of the 1992 Rio Earth Summit when President Mikhail Gorbachev was called on to create a “Red Cross for the environment” that would apply the humanitarian response model to the world’s environmental crises. Today, Green Cross is active in over 30 countries and returning to Brazil for the Rio+20 event to call for urgent action and change in the way the world is responding to the sustainable development challenge.
