Portail Rio+20

Green Cross International was born out of the 1992 Rio Earth Summit when President Mikhail Gorbachev was called on to create a « Red Cross for the environment » that would apply the humanitarian response model to the world’s environmental crises. Today, Green Cross is active in over 30 countries and returning to Brazil for the Rio+20 event to call for urgent action and change in the way the world is responding to the sustainable development challenge.
